Vortex Spring is north of Ponce de Leon and is a good checkout site for new divers or those working on other skills. There is also a cave there for those trained.

The Florida Keys offer something for everyone, from shallow water reef dives with excellent lighting for photography to deep wreck sites for technical divers. There is so much variety here you won’t see it all after several trips.
Located near Panama City Beach, St Andrews State Park offers a great shore dive with depths to 70′. Expect to see a good variety of tropical fish and sometimes there are lobsters, turtles, rays, and other larger fish.
The Destin Jetties can be reached by a walk a little over a quarter of a mile on the sand or by boat. You’ll find depths to 50′ with a variety of small tropical fish and some crabs.
Cypress Springs has stunning color and is set in the pristine backwoods. You’ll need to paddle about one mile up the Holmes Creek north of Vernon, FL to visit, but the paddle is worth it. There is a small cavern room which requires a strong kick to get in.
